So, I would say that I'm a pretty good bargain hunter. I mean, common, what mama doesnt like a good deal? {pssh none that i know}Lately I'm really into antiquey {yes, that's a word} meeting modern pieces. Such as vintage picture frames, with modern candle holders, etc. So here are some items I have come up with and/or purchased at a thrift store!
So, I have decided that I am NO LONGER going to shell out $15-$20 for canisters for such items as, bathroom stuff and so on. These 2 jars that now hold my quitips and cotton balls were candles i purchased at Target, for $5. I lit the candles {omg red velvet, can we say yummm?} every night while i relaxed before bed, which took about 2-3 weeks to burn to the wick. Then i froze them anywhere from 24-48 hours. Finally, i took them from the freezer and scraped out the wax and left over wick. Now beware, some candles come out easily while others are like, oh hell no lady! Then simply scrub clean with soap and tah dah, cansiters.
Okay, so these 4 jars if you will, were ALL candles. {from walmart or target, ranging from $4 to $6}They are now holding my make up brushes, rings and then 2 that i have nothing to put in yet! lol.
Now, this frame I got at a thrift store for a total of $2! I know right, say whaaaat?! Yes, $2. Its originally from target, costing around $18. Can we say D-E-A-L? {go, ahead, say it.}
OH EM GEE! How much are you in love with this decorative pillow?? Much, I'd say. {close your mouth, youre starting to drool.} So, this was also a thrift store purchase, it was $3.99. I know, I cant really wrap my head around it either. In a retail store, this would cost anywhere from $20, up to $45, easily! The quality is amazingly thick and rich, and the pattern is to die for. {yes, sometimes death is involved in thrifty bargains.} It doesnt really make my decor in my room, buuuuut I will make it work!
Thanks for reading, and tell your friends.
ps. Big went for her 4 year check up today, and well, she was obviously traumatized. {insert sarcasam here}
